Words of Inspiration 4

I’m continuing to encourage you all to pick a word for focus per month. I have been basing this little exercise on the 11 Words of Inspiration from a Box of Crayons video that I saw at the beginning of 2011 “11 Words of Inspiration for 2011”.  In case you want a 48 second move away from reality and into fun, I am uploading this video once again this month.

So what word do you want to use as your focus?  I’m not suggesting focus – it’s not one of the words but what word will you focus on.

Last month my inspirational word was FLOW – because I had a lot of work on and I knew that I had to be in the FLOW if I wanted to get it all done (and I did)

This month, I’ve decided on LOVE so that I can focus on loving (appreciating) the people in my life, the health that I have, the work that I have and the opportunities that I am given. So I give you this rose as a sign that love will be my word for the month.

Yellow Rose

What was your inspirational word for April? Did you truly focus on the word? Why or why not? And what will be your word for May?

Take a second and let me know…

I’m not sure I’m ready to “DISCARD” my word for April. DISCARD has been a good word for April as I started Spring cleaning and decluttering. I’ve made a good start but there is more giving away, throwing away and selling off that needs to happen.

My word for May will be LAUGH. I’ve been taking myself and my work way too seriously lately. I need to relax and enjoy life and share a few good laughs along the way.

    Thanks for the focus Dawn.

I’m going to be sure to check in with you to find out whether you really focused on LAUGH. Mind you with spring and sun coming, you might be more able to do that!

  2. During the month of April, the word that I went with was FLOW. There were so many things happening in my life at once that I had no choice but to go with the FLOW of life circumstances. This is not always easy for me, but sometimes when you do not have choices– you are forced to do what may bring a semblance of peace.

After last month’s tiring events, I am choosing REST for the month of May. It somehow seems appropriate with Mother’s Day just around the corner. As mothers we seem to not know the meaning of REST. We occupy most of our day with, what appears to be, some significant ‘work’. And when we are not physically working, then our minds and thoughts are. Or we are organising everybody in the family’s life. Oh, lets not forget- laundry, dinner, grocery shopping, cleaning, pulling weeds and that wonderful ‘job’ taxi driver.

I want to rest as much as possible this month– and not just my physical body, but my mind and spirit as well.

Thanks Dawn for encouraging me to think in a more deliberate way!
